About Cheryl Hood
Founder and President of Victory Flows
People often ask me if I have a child or family member with a disability. I do not. But what I have is a God- given passion and spiritual gift for serving those persons affected by disabilities and their families. It runs through every thread of my being, and I am most happy and at peace when I am in the company of this community.
My life experience has been in the corporate world of advertising sales and marketing, working for various media companies and eventually starting my own ad agency. These roles have taught me about serving my customers, teamwork, good management skills and financial responsibility. These have been of great benefit in launching and operating the ministry.
My personal experience has been volunteering in as much of the disability community as I could find time to do, from the Northern Indiana State Hospital for Children when I was a teenager, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Joni and Friends, and Jill’s House, along with other independent service programs.
In July 2011 I quit my job, sold my house, and got rid of my convertible. All to follow God’s leading me into the formation of Victory Flows to host more frequent programs and services for families and individuals affected by disabilities.
I am the proud mother of two children, Ryan, a financial planner and an Edward Jones agent. He is married to Kirsten and together they have two of my precious grands- Kenley and Rhodes. My daughter Andi is a NICU Nurse at Medical City Dallas and she is married to Matt. They are parents to two more of my sweet grands, Wyatt and Lydia.
I feel so blessed being able to serve such an amazing community and look forward to what God has in store for the future!
